She/Her
I am a visual designer inspired by colour, patterns, and cats. Attracted to the relationship we have with fashion, I previously graduated with a degree in Clothing and Textiles. After 5 years of working in marketing for retail businesses in beauty and fashion, I decided to flex my inner design muscle and transition to a new creative career. My particular areas of interest include typography, photography, branding, and illustration. Some of my favorite projects that I’ve completed during my program include an illustrated children’s book, kitty litter branding/packaging, and a fashion magazine. When I’m not hunched over my tablet, you’ll find me sewing, tap dancing, or digging in the garden.
The Letter K Goes Out to Play
The Letter K Goes Out to Play is a children's story following the adventures of the Letter K as they join their letter friends at a picnic. It was inspired by the short story How to Pronounce Knife by Souvankham Thammavongsa, which was MacEwan's 2021 Book of the Year.
The Ladies’ Book of Etiquette
The Ladies’ Book of Etiquette is a manners guide from 1860, and the goal of this project was to celebrate the classical origins with a modern twist. The cover features customized typography and the inside chapters begin with collage illustrations using historical and modern elements. Interesting, funny or relevant tips are featured as callouts throughout the text.
Scatterbox
This branding project was intended to take a mundane product and make it fun and exciting; enter Scatterbox, the kitty litter that's changing the game. Using a custom wordmark and neo-geo style illustration, this natural material litter stands out amongst the rest. With three different formulas, the illustration varies in color and style for differentiation.
Ice Cream Portrait
The mood of this portrait was inspired by the whimsical and crafty style of photographer Clare Nicholson. It was shot in a studio with strobe lighting and features monochrome color elements and a hand-crafted balloon ice cream cone.
