I'm a creator and observer who likes to venture into multidisciplinary settings, allude to cultures in design, and explore creative possibilities. Besides the internet, history, and music, I find inspiration through those who encourage me to be my best every day.

I'm ambitious in starting a studio one day, but I'm also intrigued by grad school due to my interests in sociology, geography, and city planning. Since design exists in all aspects of society, I hope to bring these interests into my practice one day!

Over the pandemic, I took many sociology classes, built a PC, and learned to DJ!

Karilagan Dance Society Rebrand Concept

The Karilagan Dance Society is a Filipino-Canadian dance group. The goal of this rebrand was to modernize the identity while staying true to the cultural roots.

KDS tells folk stories through performing arts. As a way to pay tribute to the Philippines’ rich cultural history, the identity ventures into the Baybayin script, which is an ancient script used in traditional Tagalog domains. The symbol used in the logo is the Baybayin letter for “Ka.”

CRUX ‘19 Congress Concept

Crux '19 is a conceptual congress in Amsterdam that focuses on the topic of information technology.

Amsterdam is a historical European city, known for its artistic heritage and iconic streetscapes. Throughout these streets are the city's iconic Saint Andrew's Crosses. The whole visual system for Crux '19 alludes to these Xs. The goal with this identity was to realize an information technology event while also paying homage to the city of Amsterdam.

Inflation, Explained

“Inflation, Explained” is about the loonie’s change in value over the years and its effects on the economy.

The goal of this project was to take pre-existing assets (provided by Matthew Satchwill), a storyboard, and a voiceover (narrated by Jordan Bloemen) to create an explainer video. Using only these craft-like assets simulated a studio-like setting where my role was to be an animator, not a designer. The video focuses on pacing, motion, transitions, and sound.

What’s Inside the Earth?

The Earth's layers are often shown in a complex, highly-detailed manner. However, we don't really know what the insides of the Earth look like. In addition, most breakdowns found online or in textbooks either seem too complex to absorb or too bland to take seriously. Challenging these ideas, I created a middle-ground that is reductive and digestible yet fun and informative.

Honouring Cultures in the Community: Educating and Celebrating the #UncoverOliver Campaign

We are working with Oliver Community League (OCL) in promoting and educating the public about the #UncoverOliver Campaign.

The goal of our capstone project was to further build momentum for their social campaign and engage the public in a digestible manner. From our research, we decided on a deliverable that could fit within the scope of the OCL and our timeline. This deliverable is an explainer video that could be released alongside important announcements relating to the campaign. The video and the social media content aim to reach not only the Oliver population but also the whole city and beyond.
