Experimental - Innovative - Detailed - Collaborative.

With a life-long passion for the creative arts, I strive to identify problems, experiment with solutions, and express imaginative ideas in unique ways. Throughout my journey in MacEwan’s Bachelor of Design program, I have discovered my passion for branding, photography, and publication design. As I move forward in my graphic design career, I will be searching for opportunities to explore, learn, develop, and communicate ideas to others. I also look forward to being part of a collaborative team which utilizes members’ strengths to overcome design challenges and promotes both personal and team growth.

Projects

Northern Dawn Brewery - Product Packaging

This project consisted of designing beer packaging and a unique brandmark.

Digital illustrations showed various mountain landscapes and images reflecting the flavours one would expect to taste in each beer. The brand Northern Dawn Brewery’s logo consisted of a rising sun as it represented the company’s adventurous and energetic personality.

Attitude - Fashion Photography

This fashion photograph was shot in a studio space with a neutral background. The project involved selecting a suitable model, her wardrobe, hair design, and make-up to best reflect the brand of a fictional magazine called “Attitude.” The bat prop and the confident model pose communicated a rebellious attitude to viewers. Adobe Lightroom was used to refine the image and create more visual interest.

EliteXpressions Sketch+ Premium Sketchbook

For this project, a brand within an existing product category was created. After completing research and determining a target audience, a brand and advertising campaign for EliteXpressions Sketch+ Premium Sketchbook were designed. A physical mock-up of a turquoise leather-bound sketchbook with a locking closure and tracing paper inserts was developed. These product features reinforced the company’s commitment to preserving the artist’s work.

Enlightenment - Dust Jacket Redesign of FOE

This project involved a dust jacket redesign of Iain Reid’s novel Foe, which was MacEwan University’s Book of the Year in 2020-21. The process of compositing and digitally manipulating images available in the public domain was used. A vignette of darkness surrounding the eye and the night sky appearing in the pupil conveyed a key character’s feelings of isolation in an unfulfilling marriage and a desire for freedom.
