Driven by a background in illustration, I've become a versatile designer passionate about UX/UI and branding. In the summer of 2021, I honed my skills as a web designer for an agency that presented the realities of working outside the classroom. The experience fostered clarity in balancing a project's vision and time management. I currently work for a marketing agency that allows me to create print and branding designs. My recent passion is motion graphics, a new frontier I look forward to exploring more. Post-graduation, I aim to grow as a designer, broaden my skill set, and challenge myself to pursue many opportunities.

Projects

William Gray Architect - Logo Design

The wordmark features a professional yet modern sans serif typeface called Coves, with a dark grey and blue colour scheme inspired by architectural blueprints. The name is displayed in bold, with "Architect" in a lighter font weight and coloured blue for distinction. The apex of the A's has been removed for originality and construction aesthetic. The wordmark is clean and well-laid out, fitting into multidisciplinary architecture without being over-complicated.

Mastery Book Cover Redesign

For the "Mastery" book cover redesign, I used a chess game to represent life's predetermined moves. The vibrant orange/reddish colour of the captions and images on the dust jacket catches the viewer's eye, and the slab-serif font used for the main title and author gives a distinguished and powerful appeal. I added hierarchy by varying font sizes and spacing, and symmetry to give an emotion of unity and strength. The texture on top of the dust jacket creates interest and variety.

Calgary Short Film Festival

The Calgary Short Film Festival's branding features a clean, simple Evo Sans font in white, set against a blue label. The logo incorporates a clapperboard and speech bubble, representing the love of film creation and conversation. The collage pattern background adds artistic flair. The branding is visually compelling and appealing to filmmakers and film lovers alike.

Ptarmigan

In designing Ptarmigan's website, my focus was expanding the customer base by showcasing Ptarmigan’s premium, custom hardwood furniture and residential solutions. Emphasizing luxury and timelessness, the website serves as a digital showcase distinguishing us from competitors. It acts as a central hub for seamless client connections and communicates their commitment to excellence. Crafted to captivate, the website is more than an online presence; it's a digital business card, embodying Ptarmigan's unmatched expertise and superior offerings.
