Abdullah
My name is Tia Abdullah from Edmonton Alberta and my passion is Art and Design. My background in Fine Arts is what led my journey to the Bachelor of Design Program at MacEwan University. I find inspiration through my peers and other designers/artists. I love design because it helps us communicate visually and understand information in unique and creative ways. My goal is to become a stronger and more successful designer by doing projects I love! Over the pandemic, I kept busy by working on my personal art pieces and by doing freelance work for small businesses in the Edmonton area.
Odd Company Beer: Beer Label Design
This Project consisted of designing beer labels that best matched the beer taste profile while maintaining the brand identity.
Illustrations were hand drawn, scanned, and then edited in photoshop. They were then applied to the design of the label along with other illustrative imagery and hand drawn type. Typography used for the beer titles were hand illustrated and integrated with the background illustrations. The hand rendered typography paired with illustrative images gives the label a unified and coherent feel.

Odd Company Golden Sour Mockup
Odd Company Elle Nelson IPA Mockup
Ella Nelson IPA has aromatics of grape and citrus perfume with a floral bump finish. The label illustrations reflect the beer’s ingredients and taste, consisting of grape and floral illustrations.
Golden Sour Ale is described as cloudy gold in colour, with taste profiles of lemon and sweet orange and a finish of honey and floral hopping. My illustrations of lemon and orange were created in order to match the beer's taste profile.
MEC 2020 Spring Catalogue
This project consisted of organizing large amounts of content into a multipage catalogue that is easy to read, scannable and also visually interesting.
Camping illustrations are paired with an earth tone colour pallet. Font pairing, photography, and typography were based off of MEC’s current brand identity.

Vancouver Documentary Film Convention
The main objective of this project was to coordinate an identity system for a Documentary Film Convention held in Vancouver. Designs provide the viewer with visual information of the event. The location as well as the documentary film industry were researched and content found was then focused upon when creating the main identity of the event as well as its unified design systems.

The Mean: Album Cover Design
This record was designed for a local Edmonton band called "Nature Of" for their new album "The Mean". The goal for this project was to design an entire record to fit the band’s personality that was also a reflection of their music.
I used one of my paintings as the main focal point for the album.
