I am an artist/graphic designer, who has spent half her life living in two places. I lived in Malaysia for 7 years of my life, I graduated from highschool there. I find my inspiration from what I watch, read, and find on Pinterest. I currently have my own business designing art dolls for collectors, however, my goal is to either be a tattoo artist, an art therapist, or a designer. I enjoy design for the opportunities and new skills it has given me, as I get to apply my art in a more structured way. I enjoy illustration the most, but have grown fond of publication, typography and UX design.
Creation of Art
For this project I had to make a 5-10 minute video about anything I chose. For my video I wanted to film the process of creating an art piece. The style was up-close angles, minimalistic, focused on the tools, and the small details. Throughout the video, the art piece will be a mystery until the final shot.

Local Company Catalog Design
For this project, I was tasked with picking a local company and designing a catalog for them based on the products and services they provide. I chose a local art store called The Paint spot. The 3 products or services they provide are art supplies, art classes, and the art walk.
University Magazine Design
For this project, I was tasked with redesigning the University Griff Magazine. For my approach on the Griff magazine, the direction taken was a minimalistic and more white space focus design.
It brings a calming and more tone down atmosphere, in contrast to the hustle and busyness of student life. The content is focused on well-being and relaxing environment, the spreads relate back to the reader enjoying life and taking a break from the stress of school.
There is a lot of white space so it feels more open so the reader can breathe and isn’t distracted by busy spreads with large text and very bright colors. This magazine is meant to remind the reader/ audience to take a break and rest for a minute from the rush of life to enjoy the small things in life.
I wanted to create a magazine that I wanted to read. Many of the past Griff volumes have articles relating back to the school. As a student, I got tired of hearing about the school. I would want a magazine more focused on me and my well- being, which is why I went for a more calm and student focused magazine.
DESN300 Old Painting in a New Illustrator Style
For this project, I was tasked with choosing an old painting and changing it into the style of a modern illustrator. I chose the Girl with the Pearl Earring for my painting and Jasmine Becket as the illustration style.
I started with the clothes first. To begin, I used watercolors to create a base, then went over it with color pencils.
For the face, I used pastels to create the shading and soft colors. The colors went too dark first so in order to change that I cut out the face and I added a new piece of paper underneath and started over. This time I used color pencils first and then pastels.
