I am Isabelle Houle, a graphic designer born in Edmonton, AB. I find inspiration in my surroundings, the people I meet, and the work of other creatives. My career goal is to grow as a designer by facing challenges, getting out of my comfort zone, and trying new things. I love design because it allows me to turn ideas into creations. The idea of seeing my own work out in the real world is very motivating to me. Over the pandemic, I started doing yoga, and I learned more about how to put myself out there as a designer.

Information Design Conference

This project shows the design process and final pieces for the corporate identity of an information design conference. This includes a poster, a logo, and some lanyard passes. The idea was to represent the conference in a unified series of items that would help promote the event. The process included lots of sketching and ideation before coming up with the final design.

Information Design Poster: Carbon Emissions

This project’s goal was to organize a large amount of information into an easy-to-read information poster. My strategy was to use colour-coding to link the different information together. I also wanted to use some white space to allow each part to breathe and stand out on its own. Thin lines were used to reduce visual clutter and look more minimalistic as the map itself uses a lot of solid, filled-in shapes.

Khashab Home Furnishing Corporate Identity

This project’s goal was to design the corporate identity for a chosen fictional brand. I had to choose a name that would best fit the company’s products, natural home furniture, and design the most appropriate identity to represent it.

Gold Panning

This is a video of my dad gold panning. The goal of the project was to conduct an interview with someone about a specific topic. I chose to interview my dad about his gold panning hobby, because it was something I personally found very interesting. I spent the day with him filming every step of his process while asking him some questions about his hobby.

Fruitful

Fruitful is a productivity app designed for university students who tend to procrastinate often. The name, Fruitful means to produce good or helpful results. With this app, I wanted to provide a tool for students to manage their projects in order to complete them on time using an intuitive to-do list.
