A design project that required me to recreate a famous painting in the style of a well known artist. I chose to create the Birth of Venus in the style of Alphons e Mucha. I chose both the painting and art style as it would push my artistic ability as well as showcase my illustration skills
This is a comparison between my illustration and the original painting by Sandro Botticelli. I wanted to capture the beautiful and delicate look of the original but translate it into the style of Alphonse Mucha who used a lot of interesting and detailed artwork. I also wanted to include a stylized frame similar to those found in a lot of Mucha’s art.
