About
Hi, my name is Racquel. I love storytelling through design, honesty and exploration. As an empath, I have a unique perspective that influences the designer I am today. I strongly believe that who we are as humans, our personality and our life experiences influence what we put into our work. I thoroughly enjoy the creative side of design, but I also very much enjoy the community. Meeting new people, working with others, and discovering new things in life have been exciting experiences for me. My primary focus is photography, video, motion graphics and print design.
Projects
Surefire
Surefire alludes to having a dream, not being able to reach it, and the experience of observing it from a distance. This conveys the comparison of the dream and reality. Although it is so close, it is so far. This piece is an exploration of photography, illustration and scanned elements.
Art Buffet
The Art Buffet is a welcoming, low-pressure, creative event for any participants interested in meeting new people and doing art. This branding project represents the inclusive community of the Art Buffet club through flexibility and bright, encouraging colours. The different shapes in the branding welcomes all individuals and levels of experience.
André’s Music Journey
André is a genre-spanning, jazz keyboardist who is actively recording and composing. In this video, we get a little glimpse into his musical journey, where it has brought him and what he envisions for the future.
Relation
This photo essay tells the story of twins and their visual identity as “half glass full” and “a glass half empty.” This illustrates their experience of looking identical to one another and is shown through fashion and expression. Although they are alike, they are still unique on their own.
