About
HEY! My name is Kaelyn. My portfolio showcases the range of work I have explored during my time as a design student. By taking as many different classes as possible, I have found my biggest passions in publication, illustration, photography, and advertising. When I design, I stay inspired by my experiences, my peers, and my interests. The design program has been the perfect contrast of hard work and fun; I look forward to this continuing outside of school, working in the industry. Creativity is my confidence, and I can't wait for my future journey as a Visual Communications Designer.
Hummingbird
This project let me focus on the detailing of hummingbirds and fuchsia flowers. I painted this with watercolour paints, focusing on creating texture and dimension through colour theory.
The Griff: The Redesign Issue
My main focus for this project was to design through my personality, playing with colours, typography, and other elements to make it bright, cheerful, and exciting. I was inspired by my love of music and concerts, as well as by the idea of merchandise and tactile elements that could be incorporated into layers of this project.
Graffia
Graffia is a dirty soda in a can. The brand's visual style contrasts graffiti with modern art, as this soda uses clean ingredients. This project advertises a new soda through the rise of dirty sodas, but keeping health in mind.
Cover of Vogue
Using strobe lighting, this photoshoot was an editorial styled shoot incorporating vintage and luxury fashion and furniture. Shooting outside a studio allowed for deeper meaning in this shoot, as I was able to use the environment to my fullest potential.
