About
Hi, I'm Tessa! I am a visual communication designer focusing on branding, typography, and advertising, but I also love photography and videography. Design, at its core, is the intersection of problem-solving and creativity, which drew me to this industry. In the problem-solving process, I work to fully understand the issue or brand so that my solutions are unique, meaningful, and user-centred. My design skills have developed through my time in the program and have been strengthened by the knowledge gained across disciplines. Outside of design, you will find me hiking, camping or playing squash.

Lumora Brand Hierarchy

This brand hierarchy, Lumora and sub-brands Kivanta, Orovea, and Avantiq, is a travel planning conglomerate. This brand family is centred on lived experiences and connection, no matter which audience they target.

What's on my Plate

After tracking data from my own life, I created this poster to display my findings. This concept represents how I interact with food by focusing on seeing food in its completeness rather than being measured by numbers.

Simons Home Catalogue

This catalogue for Simons' home product line takes a bright but clean approach. This design synthesizes complex information and hierarchies to be easily digestible for readers.

Bad Cree Postcards

These expressive typographic postcards are based on the novel Bad Cree by Jessica Johns. The concept was to show the progression of the main character, Mackenzie, through grief as she experiences denial, reflection, and acceptance.
