About
My name is Rachel, and I'm a DXD major. I'm Chinese-Canadian and can speak three languages (more if you count HTML & CSS).

I came into design with an interest in technology, people, and storytelling. Merging these focuses led me to specialize in User Experience Design, connecting technical and human-centred approaches. Ironically, as a daughter of immigrant parents who've always told me to hold onto things, I've grown to prioritize simplicity and functionality in my designs.

My superpower is analyzing problem spaces, tuning fine details, and presenting functional, visually engaging designs, with skills in Figma, Webflow, and Adobe applications.

Redesign & Development: Yale School of Art

In this project, I tackle the redesign and front-end development of Yale School of Art's website. From a website with poor navigation, limited accessibility, and a frustrating user experience, this project challenges the notion of design over functionality, creating a new experience that aligns with the prestigious institution.

Providing an AI-Service Kiosk for Students at the John L. Haar Library

In this project, we created a support kiosk with AI-integrated features to assist the students and visitors of the John L. Haar Library at MacEwan University. Through this system, guests can ask questions, get personalized book recommendations, access service information, and more, all in one place on the library's interactive screen!
