Creating a Cohesive Board-Game Vision

This capstone project focused on narrative design and visual development for a Board Game project in collaboration with AfterBurner Factory. The project features illustrated characters designs, concept art, and a mid-fidelity game board, all compiled into a cohesive pitch bible to support future development of the game.

Singularity is a sci-fi board game set in a dystopian future ruled by the megacorporation MONARCH. Players must race to recover powerful cyber relics tied to an ancient superweapon.

Several character designs were created for this project which include:
Umbra – A stealthy ninja trained by freedom fighters, seeking to avenge her parents and take down MONARCH.
Seeker & Prowl – A disillusioned detective with a robotic canine companion, uncovering the truth behind MONARCH’s corruption.
Chimera – A former MONARCH test subject with shape-shifting powers, driven by revenge but trusts no one.
Champion – MONARCH’s armored enforcer and celebrated war hero, determined to retrieve the cyber relics and crush resistance.
The cards in the game serve as both a gameplay tool and a narrative device, giving each player a unique identity within the world of Singularity. Each card features a fully rendered illustration and a short character bio.

These cards help immerse players in the story, offering a glimpse into each character’s backstory and motivations, while also allowing for potential gameplay abilities tailored to their personality and role.
