I’m Tyson Duffett, a graduating student from MacEwan’s Bachelor of Design program. I really enjoy exploring new visual styles and finding creative solutions to design problems. Particularly through the use of illustration and motion graphics. However, I have always been passionate about learning. As a result, I have accumulated a broad range of design skills through my time here at MacEwan. This inclination towards gaining new skills is something I intend to carry on going into my career, taking on new challenges and continuing to learn. I’m looking forward to beginning my career and applying my skills in a professional context.

Projects

Man Therapy: Survival Skills

This is a theoretical PSA ad campaign for Man Therapy, that communicates positive mental health skills and encourages further engagement from the viewer. These ads utilizes comedy to make a difficult subject more approachable to a generally reluctant intended audience.

The Metamorphosis

This project was a full layout design and illustrations for Franz Kafka’s short story The Metamorphosis. The illustrations and chapter titles within the book get gradually more corrupted, reflecting the main character's mental state as the story progresses.

Grip Royal: Product Animation

This video is a product demo and advertisement for a Grip Royal steering wheel created in 3D software. In addition to displaying the product this video exemplifies the fun spirit and energy that are intrinsic to the brand.

The Journey

This character design and accompanying walk cycle demonstrate storytelling through visual media. Through the design of the character and their movements, the viewer is able to gain an understanding of the journey the character has undergone.
