Simon Dechant
Hi, I'm Simon! I believe design is best used as an avenue to showcase and share engaging stories from one individual to another. My strengths lie in motion graphics and videography, as I love to feel the natural flow of movement when putting together a project! I've been able to expand my skills in learning software such as the Adobe Suite, Procreate, and Blender.
Regarding my future career, I'm excited to keep moving forward and to meet all kinds of people while designing. Each new project is a chance to see the world through a different pair of eyes and an opportunity to share that experience with others!

Projects
"Table Tennis Rackets Explained" Animation
For this motion graphics project, I wrote a script and created an animation about the base components that make up a table tennis racket. I decided to use every technique I had learned in the course for this project, combining After Effects, Premiere Pro, Procreate, and Blender to create a high-energy love letter to table tennis.
Hulu-Branded Toothpaste
Hulu's Toothpaste line is a step aside from their usual product offerings, but it still follows the established Hulu design system of "clarity, efficiency, and swagger" to make it instantly recognizable. The campaign would take place in locations that are high traffic urban areas to get close to Hulu’s average viewer and emphasize the human element that Hulu values.
"Be Kind" Album Cover
Smoke is fluid and beautiful in its waves and patterns, but it is also vulnerable. It goes away with a wave of a hand and is only captured in a single moment, never making the same shape twice. This is much like the improvisation and flexibility that was able to blossom through the jazz duo setting of this album.
This piece won First Place in the Bachelor of Design & Bent River Records Album Design Competition for “Be Kind” and is now being retailed physically as both a vinyl record and a CD.
