I find inspiration in the evolving landscape of digital media and the influence of new technologies on our world. I observe patterns and behaviors to inform conscientious designs. I am interested in the significant impact of design on individuals and communities. Approaching challenges with an open mind, I thrive in multi-disciplinary environments and enjoy collaborative opportunities. Specializing in User Experience Design with an interest in Human-Computer Interaction, I strive to create products and services that contribute to fulfilling and meaningful experiences.

Projects

WEM Interactive Directory Redesign

Redesigning the interactive navigational experience in West Edmonton Mall.

The Map Directory at West Edmonton Mall has problems with its current design. The Mall has many dining venues, stores, and entrances, making it challenging for shoppers to navigate. We created a redesign that provides a clear and efficient system with an additional companion web app that allows users to have a hands-on navigational experience.

A collaboration with Braden Bierkos (Design) and Nadir Bakridi (Computer Science).

Sharp Fashion Magazine: Photography and Layout

For this project, I directed and executed a professional photoshoot for a fashion magazine using Diptych photography. Coloured gels set a strong scene, and the model’s jewellery and hair interplay with similar forms in the macro shot of the necklace. The magazine layout is designed for a modern, snappy atmosphere.

TasteBuds: Identity & Packaging Design

TasteBuds provides a casual dining experience for no-fuss meals.
A mix of friendly and semi-realistic illustrations creates a relaxing, playful personality. The organic label uses recycled carbon as the main material. Fun and saturated primary colours create an eye-catching set that stands out on the store shelves. Each colour is associated with a flavour of the sauce and its companion dish. Colour-coded caps related to each flavour afford easy recognizability in the fridge.

InVision: Exhibition Branding and Design

This project explores interpretive content creation, information design, and communication. We considered material choices, accessibility standards, and human-centered design principles and user experience design.

In:Vision is a journey of how we see and perceive the world. This immersive and experiential massive-scale exhibit explores the interaction between our sense of sight, the world, signal interpretation and where we might not necessarily see eye to eye.

A collaboration with Angeline Santos and Nawaal Basha.

Office Donut Character Design and Animation

This project was an exercise in creating a character design with a unique personality. Exploring 12 principles of animation I captured mood through movement and the environment.
