Digital illustration is a strength attained from years of practice. Drawing a composition, adding colours, and creating an impactful story into a visual art is one of my greatest joys. Designing a book from scratch and implementing elements from the book to the design is a skill I’m proud to attain from MacEwan. When it comes to website design, designing a website that supports the needs of the client & their audience is something I look forward to. I’m excited to use the skills I’ve honed from MacEwan and discover more design techniques after graduation.

Projects

Publication — KOKORO Book Redesign

"Kokoro: Hints & Echoes of Japan" is written by Lafcadio Hearn and is a collection of 15 essays dealing with the inner life of Japan. Kokoro means 'heart', but also signifies 'mind' in a spiritual and emotional sense. This project consists of designing the dust jacket and interior pages of a chosen book.

UX/UI — Sage Seniors Association Website Redesign

This project consists of a website redesign for Sage Seniors Association. They need an accessible, functional, easy-to-navigate website so they can provide seniors with the help and support they need.

Illustration — Work of Art

Work of Art is an illustrative webcomic about my late grandmother. It is spoken from the perspective of a dying person, taken from the moment when I watched my grandmother lay on her hospital bed. She was unable to talk, eat, or move. This is a visual narrative project where I have to create and capture static images that, in sequence, communicate a story I developed.

Publication — Silver Phoenix Book Redesign

Silver Phoenix, written by Cindy Pon, is about a girl, Ai Ling, where she journeys to the Palace of Fragrant Dreams. She then realizes that this quest isn’t only just to find her father but a venture with stakes larger than she could have imagined. I wanted to give my own takes on the cover of the book with my design.
