I am attracted to design for its versatility in how it connects to people, and likewise I strive to be as versatile a designer as possible. I have always been fascinated by digital media, so I have been using the Adobe creative suite for over a decade and have always counted illustration, animation, video editing and game design among my hobbies. My focus at MacEwan has been Branding and UX/UI, and have found I have a knack for research as well. I am anxious to be given direction so I can dive into a new challenge!

Projects

Deviant Dust Jacket

I designed a dust jacket and interior layout for Harold Schechter’s true crime book Deviant, a frightening account of the life of Ed Gein. In the dust jacket, I wanted to evoke the cold, placid vastness of middle-of-nowhere Wisconsin that Schechter describes in the book as the state’s “cold, dead heart”.

Up & Over Album Cover

This was an album cover I designed for Up & Over Trio’s album of the same name. A local music group, I wanted to feature the city somehow in the design so I thought one of our downtown high rises was a fitting visual for my red-hot up & over chevron motif.

Ocean Spray Rebrand

Mockups for a business card set, these are a small piece of an overall hypothetical rebrand I created for Ocean Spray. Their company is run as a co-op by cranberry farmers, so I sought to remedy how shocked I’ve always been that their visual identity says so little about the fruit that put them on the map. For this project, I also needed to develop an identity for a conference they could host and mock up some collateral so I chose the name Bogstomp, referencing the way cranberries are harvested.

AI-Enhanced App Concept

This is a scenario walkthrough demonstrating the use of Aerostat, an app concept that pairs with a face mask, AI and GPS statistics to help manage myriad breathing problems such as allergies, asthma, COVID-19, and general air quality concerns.

This was a group project, completed with Danielle McDow-York and Marco Tse.
