Design is thinking made visual. Bringing ideas to life that meet the human senses is what drives me as a designer. I am a strong visual learner, which enables me to create impactful stories and messages in my work and have an eye for detail. The design program not only sharpened my technical skills in branding, advertising, and graphic design but also helped me grow as a person by collaborating with other creatives and professionals. Learning and listening to who I am designing for and with is what made me a strong designer today.
Projects
Sense The Love: Exhibition Branding and Design
The project's objective is to develop an exhibition concept, create a brand identity and present the experiences of the branded space with a design team - Celine Trinidad & Charles Tanyag. The interactive exhibition is called Sense the Love. It explores the 5 love languages by stimulating the human senses and will take place in the Art Gallery of Alberta.
Dead Poets Society: Publication Design
This project redesigns the cover and inside of the novel adaptation of Dead Poets Society, a coming-of-age film directed by Peter Weir. The new novel design provides the film's dark academic feel while proving that the novel is not a lazy adaptation that copies scene by scene and line by line. It provides a different experience and perspective of the story.
Pin The Red Flag On The Donkey: Campaign and Advertising Design
The Project addresses the issue of sexual harassment in the workplace. Through the Pin The Red Flag On The Donkey campaign, victims will feel empowered by learning that they have control and resources. This is achieved by shedding a negative and embarrassing light on the perpetrators in the campaign advertising, taking away their power over their victims.
Asian Stereotypes in Media: Social Issue Illustration and Design
The Project addresses the social issue of racial stereotypes in Asian communities and how media, especially through films and shows, has been the main source for this harmful generalized image of people of Asian descent. The illustration approaches the social issue by showing a sense of hope and power. The illustration creates a call to action, urging the audience to fight with their Asian peers in times of discrimination.
