Hey there! I’m Malorie. I’m a fourth-year design student and will be graduating this year! I come from a small town north-east of Edmonton and love anything outdoors and spending time with friends and family. After graduation, I hope to be working in the UX/UI field, specifically in web design.

For me, I love design because it’s about problem-solving and finding creative solutions to problems, big or small. Inspiration comes to me from the people I get to work with as a designer. Hearing about my clients’ passions and goals gets me inspired to help them using my design skills.

Over the pandemic, I’ve spent more time outside fishing and camping!

Canada Parks Camping App

For this project, the goal was to design a mobile application for the Parks Canada reservation system. User needs were defined through a journey map, personas, and an empathy map. This project also involved user testing to visualize users’ pain points when using the current reservation system. The research gathered then guided the application's design and guaranteed that it would meet the users' needs.

Edmonton Parking App Redesign

The goal of this project was to redesign the Edmonton Parking App. User testing and interviews were done initially, allowing me to understand the user better. A before and after the UI flow was created, which allowed me to visualize the users' pain points. The UI flows also allowed me to focus on problem areas in order to create an efficient and enjoyable user experience.

Earn your Stripes Campaign

Zebra Child Protection Center is a not-for-profit, Edmonton-based child advocacy center. For this project, the goal was to create a 6-month long campaign centered around the idea that "kids can tell". With this concept in mind, the idea of "earn your stripes" emerged. This idea goes off the thought that when adults and children report abuse, they're taking action and should be rewarded for doing so and, in a sense, are "earning their stripes."

Techa: Iced Tea to power you day

The goal of this project was to create a unique and appropriate logo and packaging system. Techa is a herbal iced tea beverage marketed towards the outdoor enthusiast. It separates itself from its competitors by branding itself as a healthy alternative to sugary energy drinks and other iced tea beverages.
