About the Program

MacEwan University’s Design Studies program has been educating well-respected designers in Edmonton, Alberta for over 45 years. We introduce students to new ways of seeing and thinking about design. Over the course of three years, they learn how to creatively transform a message and to craft a visual statement that persuades, informs, motivates or entertains. Guided by over twenty-five instructors with a wealth of design expertise, they gain experience in a variety of mediums, such as print, photography, video, and digital media.Through theoretical grounding, practical craft, and the application of tools and technology, students gain solid skills to enter diverse disciplines.
